Why are there 2 options, and why is this important?

For Minnesota residents, there is a choice of networks because it is where the insurance company corporate location is.  Outside of MN, (or, for example, your college student attends college out of state) the network will switch for both options to the BlueCard PPO Network.

Review the networks carefully. Once you select a network, you’re locked in with your choice for the full calendar year. You cannot change networks mid-year unless you experience a qualifying life event (QLE) midyear. You have within 30 days to report QLE to ESSG’s Employee Benefits Team.
